Life of a Simple Soprano

I cannot remember a time when music was not a part of my life. Music is my past, present, and future. It has been there for me through good and bad times. Through tears of love, pain, sorrow, and happiness. Music is my best friend! Music is my destiny!

Name:
Location: Maryland, United States

I am a Music teacher for grades Pre-K thru 6. However, my days as a teacher are numbered I personally feel like my destiny is to perform as a classical singer. People are always surprised by my talent because I am not arrogant or snobbish about the amazing gift that God has given me, I am just preparing for my great moment!!!

PEACE!!

We had the African American History Month Concert at my school tonight!! Thank God it is over. The children were so excited that they just were running all over the school it was pure chaos!! I think that tonight I am going to clunk out and wake up on Thursday Morning!! It was just too much disrespect! Disruption! Lack of order! Then people wonder why there is a shortage of teachers!! It is finally over!! Hallelujah!!

Juniors

I had an audition in New York this weekend for an opera workshop founded by Martina Arroya called Prelude to Performance. The purpose of the workshop is to allow aspiring opera singers an opportunity to learn scenes, italian diction, movement, and other aspects of opera production. While I was there my favorite cousin,Vince, took me to breakfast at this well known restaurant in Brooklyn named Juniors! The food was delicious!! I loved New York! I think I may be moving there soon!

Sade?

My father were talking last night and both want to know what ever happened to SADE! She was so beautiful and sang the best songs! I wish she would come out with something new soon! There seems to be a severe lack of true singers these days! You get more flesh than you do actual vocals!!! Anyway, the best news for today is: "IT'S THE WEEKEND, BABY!!"

Married Smarried!

My grandmother called me last night! She is soo funny!! All she wants to know:"When are you getting married? I was like:"I don't know." She said that I just haven't been giving anyone the time of day, and I told her: "Grandmother! I can't make anyone like me!!" But, she doesn't believe me. I guess dating must have been much easier for her when she was coming up!! It is very hard now. I think my major problem is that I am shy in the relationship area. Anyone, who knows me will think that is strange because I have such an outgoing personality! Women now are very aggressive with men!! They have spoiled a lot of men, who no longer feel like that have to put forth any effort in courtship!! Anyway, I started thinking: "What type of wife would I be like anyway....the first person that came to my mind was Lucy!!! Sometimes I get myself in the most bizarre situations!

Stress Reliever!!

Today was terrible! Whenever there is the slightest change in the weather the children at my school get insanely out of control! I want some chocolate so bad, but I am in the biggest looser contest and I don't have any loose dollars on me! Why not drool over this incredible plate of chocolate chip cookies!!

Color Quiz

One of my friends, Susan has the most amazing blog(www.soozphotoz.typepad.com)! She is a wonderful photoghapher and has recently been posting quizzes on a regular basis. I thought this quiz was quite interesting! See what happens when you take it! Here are my results:
BLUES are motivated by INTIMACY, seek opportunities to genuinely connect with others, and need to be appreciated. They do everything with quality and are devoted and loyal friends and employers/employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to are their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and will give freely of themselves in order to nurture others lives.BLUES, however, do need to be understood. They have distinct preferences and occasionally the somewhat controlling (but always fair) personality of a confident leader. Their code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy sharing meaningful moments in conversation as well as remembering special life events (i.e., birthdays and anniversaries). BLUES are dependable, thoughtful, nurturing, and can also be self-righteous, a bit worry-prone, and emotionally intense. They are like sainted pit-bulls who never let go of something once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere, make an effort to truly understand them, and truly appreciate them.

Tuesdays With Morrie

Tuesdays With Morrie has to be one of the best books that I have ever read. If you have not read it, get it ASAP. If you have already read it- read it again! ! I think I loved the book so much because it reminded me of the things that are truly important in life: "So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half asleep, even when they'r busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're buy chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

Lady Grace the Ragdoll Cat

My Ragdoll Cat, Grace died this yesterday. It was one of the hardest thing I had to endure. Ragdoll cats have personalities more like dogs: very watchful, sweet, and love to be around you- they are not as aloof as regular cats. Grace was a sassy little cat with lots of personality!!! I will miss her dearly! If you are ever interested in getting a Ragdoll Cat go to http://hometown.aol.com/natscats8/index.html They are the best cats in the world to have in your home!!
